Description:
Our financial services client currently has two outstanding opportunites to join their downtown Chicago office.
As a Financial Associate, you will primarily support a specific portfolio and perform financial assignments within that area. You will also analyze, prepare, and reconcile accounting and other data, participate in research projects, develop recommendations affecting business procedures and operations and maintain automated general accounting and reporting systems. In addition, you will process transactions to subledger and GL systems, provide month end reports and participate in system upgrades.
As an Accounting Analyst, you will be responsible for wide variety of duties, including: Perform review of reoccurring monthly accounting activity and booking complex accounting entries, handling foreign accounting activity,and preparing quarterly and annual financial statements. Take the lead and provide leadership and direction to team members and other miscellaneous projects as required.
In addition, you will prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting and reconciliations. Perform analysis through investigation of financial data and prepare reports for Senior Management, including providing advice on accounting matters such as implications of new accounting pronouncements or classification of transactions for Balance Sheet or Income Statement presentation. 3+ years of experience
Requirements:
- 3+ years of Accounting Experience with a Bachelors Degree, preferably in Accounting
- Financial Services/Investment Accounting is a plus
- Knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software systems
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of Staff
- CPA desired
- Strong PC Skills
- Strong MS skills (EXCEL, WORD, ACCESS & POWERPOINT)
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
