Required Experience: 3-5 Years
Description:
Our client is a retailer located in Chicago's Western Suburbs. They have seen excellent growth in recent years and predict a significant percentage more in the next 3 years. We are currenty assisting them in their search for a Staff Accountant. They need a solid, experienced addition to their accounting staff to increase the technical strength of the General Accounting department. Their goal is to improve the department's ability to respond to the increasing demand for information and support from accounting. Some specific responsibilities include:
- Actively participate in period, quarter, and year-end accounting
- Assist with financial reporting and communication of results
- Perform and provide support for accounting and financial analysis
- Prepare various account reconciliations and journal entries
- Prepare Sales and Use Tax returns and related schedules
- Help ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures
- Assist with various audits
- Provide support for budget and forecast preparation
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Accounting
- CPA Required
- 3-5 years of retail accounting
- Solid technical accounting knowledge
- Understanding of financial processes and internal controls
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel, SAP knowlege a plus
